Night of the Arts events to showcase student artwork
The Snohomish community will soon have two great opportunities to enjoy a variety of artwork - and more. Both Glacier Peak High School and Snohomish High School will host Night of the Arts benefits in May. Families, students and community members are welcome to attend. Glacier Peak High School’s Night of the Arts will be Thursday, May 11 and Snohomish High School’s is Thursday, May 18. Both events are from 5-8 p.m.
These annual events are geared to raise community awareness, understanding, and enthusiasm toward art. Artwork from area students grades K-12 will be on display. A variety of mediums will be represented. Suggested admission is $5 for adults. Students and children are free. Benefits will support next year’s Night of the Arts.

High school drama productions
We have two fantastic high school drama productions coming up! Mark your calendars now!
Science & Arts Academy - Summer 2017
Inspire the mind and heart through the school district’s Science & Arts Academy! Ceramics, renewable energy, block printing, master chef, robotics, drama and aeronautical engineering are just some of the many exciting topics students who will enter grades 1 through 8 may investigate through the district’s summer program. This year’s Science & Arts Academy will run July 5 through July 28 at Snohomish High School (1315 Fifth Street in Snohomish).
District 4th-6th grade students will prepare their favorite after-school snacks as part of the annual Kids in the Kitchen/Junior Chef Competition, sponsored by the district’s Food Services Dept. Finalists will prepare their creations for a panel of judges who will select the grand prize winners.
The Snohomish School District has been gathering feedback this spring through an online conversation tool called ThoughtExchange. Once that process is complete, we will be hosting a series of community meetings to dig into what we heard and update our strategic priorities.
The Snohomish Education Foundation (SEF) recently raised more than $69,000 at its annual fundraising breakfast and awarded 121 classroom grants totaling more than $69,500.
Have you recently moved to the area? Or, do you have a child who will be a kindergartner or new to the Snohomish School District during the 2017–2018 school year? We can’t wait for you/them to join us! Register now at the Snohomish elementary, middle or high school your child will attend.
